Look for stains or soft areas on walls and floors near bathroom or kitchen plumbing.

In your washing machine: for the best defence against washing machine leaks damaging furnishings and electronics, your laundry should have a drain to prevent water leak damage. What can you do to your washing machine?
The hoses are pressurised all the time. Replace rubber and plastic hoses with reinforced steel-braided hoses. Replace these hoses every five years, no matter how they look. Label the hose with the replacement date.
Tighten the hose connections, if they feel loose. Connections are problematic and can be a source of leaks or outright system failure.
Turn off the water supply to the washing machine, whenever you leave the house for more than one day.
HOW TO FIND YOUR WATER METER
For houses check the front boundary of your property:
Water meters are typically placed near the front of your property, close to the street or sidewalk, often near the fence line or driveway.
Look for a black or wooden cover in the ground:
The meter is usually housed in the ground in a small box or pit with a plastic or wooden cover. It may be labeled "Water" or "Meter" to help identify it.
Inspect Common Areas:
If you can’t find it immediately, check along the front yard or garden beds, or on the street side of fences as it’s typically placed in an accessible but discreet location.
Check the local council:
If you're having trouble locating the meter, your local council may be able to offer guidance on its exact position based on your property records.
If all else fails, call us! We will come out and isolate the water for you.
